Our Vision

“To advance Māori aspirations of
rangatiratanga over their taonga tuku iho”

Maumahara

Maumahara Education Limited is a specialised highly qualified whānau-based private training organisation whose primary focus is education and training for fishing managers around New Zealand.

Marae-based wananga delivery methods are underpinned by principles Māori, tino rangatiratanga, kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga.

This is complimented with a strong background in adult education, scientific research and fisheries management.

Maumahara contributes to the Tertiary Education Strategy goals by enhancing the knowledge and aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi to manage their taonga fisheries resources for future generations.
